Bringing Forward the Philosophy of Universal Science: A Cosmist ConceptKonstantin S. KhroutskiE-LOGOS 2003, 10(1):1-17 In this paper I attempt to introduce a novel trend of fundamental thinking - Metanaturalism. This area assumes the integration of a posteriory and priory knowledge and thus presupposes the achievement of the level of universal knowledge about the world of Earth's life. The other necessary predisposition for the achievement of universal knowledge is the introducing of the novel trend of Cosmist Dualism, which is differentiated from Cartesian dualism. On this basis, the metanaturalistic notions of "Process" and of the triune essence of human nature are advanced. In outcome, I deduce two principal corollaries that a) exclusively subjective (personalist) level of consideration is appropriate for universal comprehension of living things on Earth, and b) exclusively cosmist functional systemic approach might reach the universal comprehension of the life phenomena on Earth - biological, personal, societal. In completion of the work, I conduct a short historical analysis of analogous (to Cosmist philosophy) attempts in world science and draw a conclusion that the universal systemic organising of sciences has an urgent significance for the future wellbeing of man and world. Significantly, we already possess the scientific means for this universal systemic approach and, at present, just need to create the proper methodological foundations for this great advance. |
Epistemology of Civilised Man DiseasesK.S. KhroutskiE-LOGOS 2002, 9(1) In this exploration author aims to approach near the cognisance of 'single cause' etiogenesis of chronic noninfectious and nontraumatic diseases. To reach this end he necessarily attempts to ground modern biomedicine in higher order-'cosmist'-philosophical (cosmological, ontological, epistemological) principles. Working on this basis, author pushes forward, with respect to the epistemology of civilised man diseases (CMD), his chief proposition that CMD arise from the excess amount of intrinsic creative-psychophysiological-energy, not having been utilised during current man's vital activity. In outcome, author advances an epistemological classification of the etiogenesis of modern diseases and originates 5 stages of the universal etiopathogenesis of modern chronic noninfectious and nontraumatic diseases (civilised man diseases). |
What can be answered on the Question about Incentive in Kant?Jakub JirsaE-LOGOS 2003, 10(1):1-13 Following paper suggest an interpretation of the crucial moment of Kant's moral philosophy: namely, how is possible that opposed to all sensual and empirical inclination we decide to act morally, i.e. adopt a moral law as an single incentive of our action. It proceeds by introducing several critiques on Kant moral teaching (Schiller, Habermas etc.), which will be answered by interpretation focusing on the double role of respect in Kant's Critique of Practical Reason. It will be argued that Kant is not so pure and strict cognitivist or formalist as suggested, though the respect for moral law is not exactly the same as the notion of sublime. |

Conceptual Systems - an Attempt at System Noetics / Discover YourselfJ. JanataE-LOGOS 2001, 8(1) Current failure to disprove skeptical and agnostical notions in philosophy leads to the conclusion that reality is the main target of our intellectual effort, but it is directly inaccessible in its absolute essence. We have therefore no option but to approach it by subjective means. Therefore even philosophy cannot build on objectivist, dogmatic notions, but on subjectivism and relativism, and understand reality not as a source but as a target or main direction of our intellectual effort. |

Doctor of Tomorrow - Physician, Psychologist, Philosopher: towards the Cosmist-hippocratic Ethics in BiomedicineK.S. KhroutskiE-LOGOS 2001, 8(1) Firstly, it is argued that contemporary medicine (and philosophy of medicine) is in a state of crisis, for, they are incapable to comprehend and to explain the substance of individual's health and the etiology (individual etiogenesis) of contemporary chronic non-infectious diseases (diseases of civilization). Henceforth, following the basic thesis of Prof. Edmund D. Pellegrino (which pushes forward the requirement in "some comprehensive philosophical underpinning for medical ethics"), here is originally advanced a new framework of ontological assumptions, called as 'Absolute Cosmist Wholism'. Further, due to the taken hypothetical-deductive method of cognition, follows the deduction of the theoretical proposals, primarily, - of the basic epistemological principle of CosmoBiotypology. Next, the derived (from the Cosmist ontology and the CosmoBiotypological principle) theoretical proposals emerge; finally, - the bioethical ones, of the Cosmist-Hippocratic essence. It is essential, that the whole philosophical underpinning is built on the Russian cosmist philosophical tradition of pan-unity and active evolution. |

On the relationship between Art and Technology in Contemporary MusicB. Becker, G. EckelE-LOGOS 1995, 2(1) This article starts with the question, whether different epistemological and practical objectives in art and technology are responsible for the problems which can be observed in present Media-art. Therefore, we first demonstrate some traditional objectives of art, especially the position of the so-called Frankfurt-School, according to which art is diametrically opposed to technological attitudes and claims since art has to express alternative ways of perceiving and interpreting the world. In contrast to this, we argue that techniques and technological states always have influenced the creative act. By demonstrating this effect in contemporary music, we describe some of the problems which arise when artists use computers and, furthermore, we put for discussion some ideas which may lead to a more creative use of these systems. |
Mors Immortalis (The problem of death in Spinoza's philosophy)M. HemelíkE-LOGOS 1994, 1(1) Death and dying - these are very important philosophical problems. Dutch philosopher Baruch Spinoza who ranks among the rationalists of the XVIIth century, solves the problem of death in the framework of his ontological schedule. The author summarizes the basic elements of Spinoza's solution: Death can play the role of evil only for such kind of people which is not able of higher forms of understanding, i.e. only for people who are called "homines carnales" by Spinoza; for people whom Spinoza called "homines sapientes", death cannot play this role. On the contrary, homo sapiens is able to overcome death because he understands himself and the necessity of things and God. |
