Bringing Forward the Philosophy of Universal Science: A Cosmist Concept
Konstantin S. Khroutski
E-LOGOS 2003, 10(1):1-17
In this paper I attempt to introduce a novel trend of fundamental thinking - Metanaturalism. This area assumes the integration of a posteriory and priory knowledge and thus presupposes the achievement of the level of universal knowledge about the world of Earth's life. The other necessary predisposition for the achievement of universal knowledge is the introducing of the novel trend of Cosmist Dualism, which is differentiated from Cartesian dualism. On this basis, the metanaturalistic notions of "Process" and of the triune essence of human nature are advanced. In outcome, I deduce two principal corollaries that a) exclusively subjective (personalist)...

What can be answered on the Question about Incentive in Kant?
Jakub Jirsa
E-LOGOS 2003, 10(1):1-13
Following paper suggest an interpretation of the crucial moment of Kant's moral philosophy: namely, how is possible that opposed to all sensual and empirical inclination we decide to act morally, i.e. adopt a moral law as an single incentive of our action. It proceeds by introducing several critiques on Kant moral teaching (Schiller, Habermas etc.), which will be answered by interpretation focusing on the double role of respect in Kant's Critique of Practical Reason. It will be argued that Kant is not so pure and strict cognitivist or formalist as suggested, though the respect for moral law is not exactly the same as the notion of sublime.
Significance of Substance-God Difference in Spinoza's Ethics I
Jakub Jirsa
E-LOGOS 2003, 10(1):1-14
Following paper argues for such a reading of first two books of Spionoza's Ethics that would better correspond to the last two books, namely connecting the ontological views with the ethical accounts. As a mean serves the notion of conatus, which I understand as a bridge between Spinoza's ontology and ethic. If we understand conatus in its active meaning of in suo esse perseverare, than we can better show the unity of Spinoza's Ethics and moreover explain why is his ontological account needed for interpreting his moral philosophy and ethics.

Jan Tleskač
E-LOGOS 2003, 10(1):1-8
The author thinks over the possibility to look on killing from the standpoint of Kant's categorical imperative; he solves philosophically a dilemma which he solved practically in the moment when he killed an attacker in the frame of self-defence. He exploits Kant's categorical imperative as a basis for affirming or refusing his views.
Konfrontace proklamovaného liberalismu transformačního procesu a liberální ekonomie v pojetí F. A. Hayeka
Jan Korbel
E-LOGOS 2003, 10(1):1-24
In this essay, I tried to compare the real process of transition from plan to market economy to the image that created the laud political proclamations. The political leaders of this process presented themselves as supporters of the austrian school of economy and convinced others that they are strictly on the side of liberalism. The theoretical part of this paper is therefore describing the theoretical base of the austrian school of liberal economy, to be specific, aproach of Friedrich August von Hayek. It shows beyond any doubts that the key part of any functioning economic system is the socalled rule of law - accordingly functioning system of...
